A gold medallist in both open hand and weapon forms, Amanda's Tai Chi journey began when first introduced to the ancient Chinese martial art in 2001. Amanda began teaching in 2006 and has studied under the guidance of some of Tai Chi's most well respected teachers including Master Fong Lee, Master Quyet, Master Jesse Tsao, Master Faye Yip and Dr Paul Lam.
Amanda has completed Instructor Certification in Health forms with Tai Chi for Arthritis creator Dr Paul Lam and is a Martial Arts Australia Certified Professional Coach. Amanda is an active member of The International Martial Arts Alliance, Martial Arts Australia and The Tai Chi Association of Australia.
One of only three instructors in Australia personally certified by Master Jesse Tsao to teach Tai Chi Bang Eight Immortal Flute at "Advanced Level" Amanda is also a certified Tai Chi Instructor for Tai Chi Healthways USA .
The International Health Qigong Federation of China has certified Amanda as Health Qigong Instructor and has formerly awarded her Duan Wei Diploma in accordance with the International Health Qigong Duan System.
Amanda is one of only fourteen practitioners worldwide appointed as evaluation committee member to The World Tai Chi Duanwei Ranking Federation, and is the sole representative of Australia to be honoured with this position.
In addition to introducing healthy workplace initiatives to local businesses, Amanda also collaborates closely with community groups and institutions, such as Hunter New England Local Health District, to actively promote the many health benefits of Tai Chi.
The World Tai Chi Duanwei Ranking Federation is a worldwide service to anyone seeking a Duan ranking for their tai chi skills.
Led by Dr. Jesse Tsao, the federation currently consists of fourteen evaluation committee members from eleven countries.
Professor Yu Dinghai from the Shanghai University of Sport, also serves as the honorary committee consultant, Professor Yu is the top-ranked double ninth-Duan in both Wushu and Qigong.
